CAST A LINE...

As I was walking along the water I ran into this lady and her son...
I struck up a conversation with her and her son, it's amazing what a camera allows you to do.

As I inquired as to the boats that were fighting to stay afloat, she explained,
she and her son had made these boats at home and they were out to set them sail.

It was a very cold and windy day and the mom was struggling keep the boats afloat. As she and her son continued to cast them out, they continually failed to float. At one point the boat got caught up in the rocks and as I watched her son, she climbed down the rocks to retrieve the wayward boat.

As I continued to watch, she said, " it's usually not like this, so I will try the other boat."  As this one had now seen better days.

What I marveled at, is there was know give up in her or her son. She kept casting her line, and when the out come wasn't what she expected...she cast her line again. When the boat got stuck in the current, she went down and got it out of the rocks. She didn't give up, she just stayed the course and found other ways to navigate the waters...

What a lesson to show your kids, I doubt he knew it was a "lesson" but he knew his mom didn't give up...

So why do we? Why don't we just keep casting our line? Yes, sometimes we get stuck, but isn't it good to know, we can untangle a line, and set a new course... not once did that boat sink, it may have been on it's side...

but it was still in the water...
